Mariano Velasco, a Colorado-based artist, has a unique gift for capturing the comedic side of parenting in his one-panel cartoons. What began as a promotional tool for his children’s book soon blossomed into a daily creative outlet, offering families everywhere a chance to laugh at the chaos and humor of raising kids. In reflecting on his work, Mariano shared that the comics originally started as a way to market his book but after just a week of daily drawings, he realized how much joy they brought and how much they resonated with others. I decided to keep doing them every day he explained. Most of the ideas come from funny moments with my children. Through his clever and relatable illustrations, Mariano has turned the everyday challenges of parenting into moments of laughter providing a humorous window into family life.
